I was in the Redwood Forest...

I was so humbled by these magnificent creatures and overwhelmed by all the jewels hiding at the bottom of the forest floor. Some of these trees have been around since Pompeii was covered in ash, yet new life is constantly growing and dying around them. The beauty of this place is truly amazing.

a slow start

One of my projects for the new year was to get this blog started up again. It's been a long while since I had my thoughts and ramblings up on this page, and I thought it would be great to have an outlet for telling stories of life, laughs and the creative process.

I am currently sitting at my desk at work, bubbling over with ideas for new art projects. I am kept company by my sloth-faced pumpkin, a gift from Rhonda that's been on my desk since October. I thought he'd rot by now, but he's going the distance with me...keeping an eye out while I research antiques...

My new inspiration is the idea of finishing something everyday...be it a drawing, a painting, processing a photograph or posting something here. I often think about my friend Bill and his 365 portraits project...how he ambitiously schlepped his camera gear around NYC, capturing the soul of someone new everyday. It's definitely something to aspire to!
