MISSING PERSON: PLEASE READ

My dear friend Marion McCleneghan has disappeared in Brooklyn and her family has declared her a missing person.  She was last seen by friends on the night of Saturday February 6th leaving a party in Park Slope, but was spotted at a bodega in Park Slope on Tuesday February 9th.  She has not had contact with friends or family since Feb. 6th, and her last bank and phone records also occurred on the 6th.

If you live in or frequent the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn and think you have seen this woman, please contact the number on the poster.  She is 5' 10" with blue eyes and light brown hair and is about 155 pounds.

Please forward this information on to anyone you know in Brooklyn.  Your help is much appreciated!

Lightning in a Paintcan @ Lucent L'Amour

Last night I was one of a dozen or so artists who did live painting at the Lucent L'Amour music festival.  The event was put on by The Do Lab, who call the live painting part of the night “Lightning in a Paintcan”.  The idea is to used old latex house paints (that would otherwise be discarded) and create a mural sized work of art to be auctioned off by Sonic Muze, a charity that raises money for art supplies and musical instruments for schools.

Here is the image I planned out to work from... (I'm trying to steer back towards paintings that involve the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature) ...and the final painting, which is about 48x36 inches.

Continental Coin blog

Recently, I've been writing and contributing to a blog for the company I work for.  I do art appraisals and evaluations for Continental Coin & Jewelry (who also deal in Fine Art and Collectibles).  We are expanding our presence online and thought it would be fun and informative to do blog articles about items we sell and general issues that arise in the art, coin and jewelry markets.  For more information, check it out here:

Happy New Year!

2010 has me buzzing with loads of ideas and creative energy, so far everything is off to a good start! I was thrilled to finish "Lilium I" and get it up in a gallery show...my first since last June!!

"Lilium I", acrylic and paper on canvas, 10x9 inches

I'm constantly trying to strike that perfect balance between my two jobs, social outlets, health/fitness while keeping the fire under my butt burning with the desire to PAINT! It felt amazing to get this new painting completed, and I'm hoping that will keep the momentum going to finish more and more!

In other news, I was invited to live paint at Lucent L'Amour next month, which I'm psyched about, since I've had so much fun in the past doing events with The Do Lab. Also, I've been asked by the amazingly talented Chris Cubeta to create the cover for his next album!

Lots of fun things in store over the next few months, including lots of GOLDEN events...be sure to stay tuned for my class schedule.

I wish everyone the best with their creative endeavors this year!
